Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Describe the biological, biochemical and pathological features of white matter destruction and repair;
  
  
• Explain the consequences of white matter integrity to human health and disease;
  
  
• Describe and better utilize conventional and advanced MR techniques used to study myelination, demyelination, axonal loss and inflammation;
  
  
• Assess the role of advanced MR techniques in the diagnosis and monitoring of white matter affected diseases and disorders;
  
  
• Describe novel therapeutic approaches to white matter diseases (including stem cell therapies);
