Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the biological, biochemical and pathological features of white matter destruction and repair;
- Explain the consequences of white matter integrity to human health and disease;
- Describe and better utilize conventional and advanced MR techniques used to study myelination, demyelination, axonal loss and inflammation;
- Assess the role of advanced MR techniques in the diagnosis and monitoring of white matter affected diseases and disorders;
- Describe novel therapeutic approaches to white matter diseases (including stem cell therapies);
