Welcome! Overview The ability to study white matter injury non-invasively and over time has tremendous implications for understanding neurodevelopment, neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. Various magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques have been developed in the hope of capturing insight into processes such as myelination, demyelination, dysmyelination and remyelination. While advanced MR methods to study white matter offer great promise, interpretation of results are often complicated by biological, biochemical and pathological features of healthy and diseased tissue for which MR characteristics are not clearly defined or even known. The aim of this workshop in bringing basic, clinical and imaging scientists together is to promote learning, encourage discussion and foster collaboration in the imaging of white matter.
